Week 29!!!! Yea! I can't believe I've been here 20 days and I've only been out of the room 6 times for sonograms. I still have not been outside so I hope everyone is enjoying the cool weather for me. I really have no clue where the time goes. I had the opportunity to work on a Keep Junction Beautiful grant for the city and the Veterans Day video for the school so those things kept my mind busy. I really enjoy working on the grants, and the Veterans Day video gets me emotional every year and I don't even know all the men in the video. It's amazing! I've been adding to the Veterans Day video since 2006 and this year I added over 100 pictures (many from an old Junction yearbook). I need some more Vietnam pictures, so if you know a Vietnam Veteran please have them email me their picture for the video next year.
Babies are doing great. Their heartbeats are wonderful and the nurses say their accelerations in their heartrate show great brain development. Their baseline heartrate is 140-150s and when they accel their heartrate is up in the 170-180s. They describe it as when you get up to walk across the room your heartrate will increase or when you excercise your heartrate increases; this is very similar but for 30 second increments. There dopplers are also great! The doppler is their blood pressure out of the umbilical cord. As many of you know their umbilical cords are in knots so they have to watch to make sure their cords are pumping blood appropriately. The cords come out of their belly buttons, are jumbled like a bowl of spaghetti and then they go into the placenta. I can't wait to see a picture of the craziness when they are born. It is truly a miracle that they can live like that.
Late last week I had a little more excitement, I guess. I was feeling really heavy so they checked my cervix again. Yeah, it's pretty much gone and starting to dilate (1-2), but many walk around like this for weeks before delivering. Anyway, they did another hormone test and this time it came back positive, soooo that pretty much means nothing. I asked the doctor and she said, "well, we know your cervix is gone, your starting to dilate and now your secreting the labor hormone, which means there is a 20% chance you'll deliver in 7-10 days." What is a 20% chance is that really even a chance! I don't know, maybe I'm thinking about rain. Then she says, "all I can say is your in the right place!" I have to agree. Thank goodness I'm here and not walking around in Junction. I am hoping my body will naturally go into labor or we schedule the c-section. I really don't want an emergency c-section due to decelerations in the babies heartrates, so hopefully all goes well. They are preparing me, though, I have now switched to Heparin shots instead of Lovenox. Lovenox (my blood thinner) lasts longer in the body but is only one shot a day; Heparin can be reversed easier but it's two shots a day. Fun!!! I now have bruised arms instead of a bruised tummy! Joy! But, that's okay there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I know many of you think that I'm bored, but this morning a male nurse came in and said, "Your highness, your breakfast is served!" He told me that my room is great and that I am pampered. I told him that I am thankful to all of my family and friends who have pampered me with food and great stuff. I have a fan, refrigerator, food, plants, battery powered candles, etc. It's great. I watch tv, surf the Internet, and eat great ice all day. It's a blessing to be comfortable. On top of that, my room is like a large hotel suite (20X15) with large windows and a great view. It's really nice. I've also enjoyed my visitors! I look at this time of bedrest as time of rest because we all know I will not have rest for a long time.

Day 13
I had an ultrasound today. Baby A is 2lbs. 14oz. and Baby B is 2lbs 15oz. Almost 3lbs!They are doing great! On the other hand, the contractions I had Friday and earlier last week did not help my cervix. My cervix is continuing to shorten (not dilate); two weeks ago it was 1.6 cm. or so and now it's at .6 cm. Anyway, we are taking it day by day. I thought my doctor would put me on strict bedrest after seeing that, but all she said was you're in the right place. I have full faith that the Lord has lead me to these doctors. I have been all over Texas with the babies and I feel I am in the right place.
We're hanging in there. I got to see Quade on Saturday. There was a dog costume parade at the hospital and he loved it! I'm sad I missed Halloween with Quade, but Trey took him Trick or Treating with friends. He was Handy Manny for Halloween. I know he had fun. I may miss Thanksgiving too, but thank goodness I won't miss his birthday and Christmas.
I know this is my opportunity to rest, because I know I won't have it for a while OR ever again. I'm trying to look at the positives.

Day 11
Hey everyone! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow! YEA!
Babies get measured again this week, so I'll let everyone know. Hoping for close to 3 lbs.
Last night was a crazy night. Starting at 4pm I started having contractions 5 minutes apart, so I called the nurse in and told her something was different. They monitor me twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. But yesterday they started at 4pm and didn't take me off. They started and IV and put me on strict bedrest and that was tough, but I made it through the night. After the IV they were 30 minutes apart and the contractions stopped at around 7am this morning. I was able to go the restroom today and that was it! Today the contractions started around 4pm again today, but I asked for the IV right away and they have been pretty mellow.
My doctor came to visit today and said that if the contractions would have caused cord compression she would have taken them last night. She's glad they stopped when they did. She doesn't want me to spiral into bad contractions and go into labor, so they are continuing to watch me closely. I know I'm in really good hands. Now that I am staying in bed I have officially lost all energy I had; I now breath really hard just walking to the bathroom 10 steps away. It's a workout!
Trey and Quade came to visit. They came early enough to see the North Central Baptist Annual Dog Costume Parade. Quade said his favorite was the guy who dressed as a big pig and his dog was a little pig. There were all kinds of costumes. I didn't get to go, but I enjoyed the pictures. We colored and played with stickers. He ate a cupcake, of course, along with my lunch brownie dessert. He watched the helicopter come in (the helipad is right outside my window - too cool) and we watched Handy Manny together in bed. We had a great day.

Tomorrow they are having a dog costume parade downstairs. They were promoting it city wide so I hope it's a great turnout. I also hope I get wheelchair privileges so I can check it out.

Inpatient at North Central Baptist Hospital Day 9
As many of you know, I am inpatient at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. The hospital is beautiful, and my doctors and nurses are great. They admitted me because my cervix was short and coning (1.2 cm). They did do a test to see if I was secreting a labor hormone, but it came back negative. If it would have been positive I would be in pre-term labor, and there would be a chance that I would have the babies in 7-10 days. Cool that they can test for that, but thank goodness it came back negative.
I have had quite a few visitors, so time has been passing by. My day consists of waking up, taking a shower, eating breakfast, eating a snack, eating lunch, eating a snack, eating dinner, and last a snack. So I eat. I also get monitored once in the morning and once in the evening for an hour. They know me as the one who likes to eat. Every nurse is surprised to see what I have for snacks. One said,"I've never seen dietary do this before" and I said, "I guess if you don't ask the answer is always no." Anyway, there food times are 8:45am, 1:30pm, and 6:30pm. I'm starving by then :). I also have food in my small fridge. No worries everyone, I'm eating!! I haven't really been able to leave my room. I found out that I could get wheelchair privileges, so I asked and received permission this morning; so starting today if someone comes to visit they may let me get out. Yea! I would love to go outside!!! That may be asking too much.
Everyday has been pretty good, but this week has been a little crazy:
Monday and Tuesday were tough because I had to stay on the monitor for 8 hours each day. Baby A was showing decelerations in his heartbeat. It was scary, but they were very cautious and they know what they are looking for. Baby A is pretty calm and Baby B moves around like crazy; we never find him in the same spot. Wednesday was also exciting because I was showing signs of a bloodclot. My heartrate was in the 130-140s and I was having trouble breathing. My goodness, I really didn't notice! My nurse brought it my attention. I had an ultrasound on my legs (which was so painful by the way) and then I had a chest xray to make sure I didn't have a bloodclot in my lungs. I don't think I was a good patient, but the radiologist guy was extremely patient. I was a little bit claustrophobic, okay I won't lie, I was really claustrophobic. The machine was smashing me like in between two pieces of bread. I'll save that story for later for anyone who asks.
Anyway, when I got back to my room last night they put me on IV fluids. I'm already on bedrest with only bathroom privileges and now I'm tied down pulling this coatrack. It was annoying, but then I found out today I was having contractions two minutes apart all night long and that's why I was on the IV. My doctor said they were bad ones and they came in all night watching me. I wasn't phased. I guess that Ambien sleeping pill really works. All I can say is that I'm really blessed to be in great hands. I am in the best place and I am so happy.
Trey and Quade come twice a week; once during the week and once on the weekend. Quade is making himself at home when he's here. We also Skype every night. For those of you that don't know, skype is a free service you download to your computer and you can video conference for free. It's so cool and Quade really likes it. I think Trey is holding up okay. Thank you everyone for checking on him.

Finally I can post 10.21.10
Two weeks ago I was able to meet my new Specialist in San Antonio, Melinda Mc Farland. I can tell I'm going to like her. Baby A measured 1lb11oz 73rd percentile; Baby B 1lb12oz 84th percentile. They were Still doing great. We are Blessed!.
Yesterday (2weeks later)I came in for a check up and met my new ob who will be delivering me. I feel good, look good (no swelling), but my cervix is shortening. I went from a 4 in Houston, two a Little over 2 two weeks ago and now a 1.2-1.6. Babies are great. Baby A is at my cervix really working his way out. Baby B is chilling across my stomach left to right. They are both moving like crazy. They miraculously both weigh 2lbs4oz. We are so happy, but due to my cervix, I was admitted into the hospital at 26 weeks rather than 28 weeks. I will be here until the babies are born. My new OB Dr. Murdock who is the cheif of staff and I really like her. I was admitted to North Central Baptist Hospital at Stone Oak off Sonterra/1604. It's a gorgeous hospital and I'm right down the hall from my dr(s) so they can monitor me.
Quade is not so sure about this, but he will be here today to hopefully explain more. Last night he missed me and he also missed the turtle, dogs And whatever else left the screen on his little cartoons. He's in good hands!
I also know Im in good hands. Please check these scriptures out if you have a second. As many of you know, it's a miracle that the babies measured identical yesterday at 2lbs 4oz. I had a good friend see that as a sign and found scripture for me that I would like to share:
Okay 2 lbs 4 oz each baby…. There MUST be a message… so here's what I found;

The Lord, your prayers and support bring me peace. There is still a long road ahead of us. I will find out more about my cervix today. I have had progesterone shots (to stop early labor) and steroid shots (to help babies lungs grow). I know I'm n here earlier than I want to be, but I know God has sent me here for a reason. We will just wait day by day. My first goal is 28 weeks (first of November) but I'm praying for 32 weeks (last week of November). Thank you for your love and support. I'll try to post again at the end of the day.
